Anybody use Hogue shotgun stocks and forends? Request feedback from anybody who has the 12 inch LOP Hogue stock and forend...especially if they are using them on a Mossberg 590. thanx, Dawgfvr

I use a hogue on my 870.

It is of the "overmolded" type, and has a 12" LOP, which is as short as I would get, not to mention the shortest I've seen. It makes the shotgun very handy, and tames recoil quite well. I shot 90 rounds of 00-buck this past weekend in one sitting, and have no complaints.
I did not keep the forend, because under recoil, it was peeling skin from my left hand. The rubber was too soft, and grabbed my skin.
I recommend this stock 100% to anyone who wants a short LOP, and a nice grip.

I have a full size Hogue stock and forend on my 870 and it's the best synthetic stock I've used. The rubberized stock and the forend design give me an excellent grip on the gun.

A friend of mine put an 12" version on an 870 that he was setting up for his wife. I fired it a couple of times but it was way too short and I didn't want to risk of getting the back of my thumb in my eye under recoil.

The full-size Houge is 14" long which while short works well for me on my PC shotgun (PC=Predator Control;) )

I do like the shorter stock over the standard stock, but note that it's really shorter than the standard. I felt that the standard stock was just too long for me, but the overmolded Hogue's a bit too short for me.

Ah...now there is the rubb. I am 5'8" tall...170 and have short arms. Well, if it were too short...perhaps I could just add on additional recoil pads or something. Methinks it will fit my build pretty well though. dawgfvr

I have a set of Hogue Overmolded on an 870. I like them very much. They are better than anything else I've seen so far.

I had the short LOP and found it too short I am 6'2" and about 210lbs. I found the regular lenght a better fit. I think it is the best conventional stock that I have had.

AFter using Hogue stocks for a few years here is what I have found is the ultimate:
13" with the pad:
