I don't know how many have checked them out lately, but they require subscription now -- which I can understand, as it seems that such testing would be expensive.

Does anyone subscribe? If so, do you like it? Is it as easy to read/understand as it used to be?

They do ballistics testing on hollowpoints for ordinary peasants like us. They started as sort of a hobbyists site. It was very good, but for a variety of reasons, they stopped doing it.

Now they're back but they require a subscription because of all of the data they had stolen from their website.

Before you spend your money, ask yourself, or DeFatio, why he has never shown any pictures of the stuff he says he shot in jello, still in the jello?

I am a member of EZ Boards, which is the parent board, there appear to be NO posts of any kind on that board.

As a member of the old AmmoLab and a member of WarriorTalk forum where David DiFabio has been busy posting since his site went down, I have to say that David is one of the real straight shooters, both literally and figuratively. He's been around the block and really knows his stuff.

For those that didn't figure it out, the link posted above was just for the ammolab forum. Go to www.ammolab.com to see what ammolab has become as of late.

From what I understand the whole thing was down for a while after Difabio was seriously injured by a mentally imbalanced family member and was recovering.

I've always found his info to generally concur with info I've seen and heard from other reliable sources.

Never heard of them and don't know anything about them but it seems to me that the reason they have for charging, that their data was stolen and republished commercially is a bit suspect.

If the purpose is to publish the data to help civillians and LEO's and the only issue is credit (not dollars) then why not go after the offending parties and make them print a retraction, giving their web site the credit for the data?

And if someone wnated to steal their data, would $100/year stop them?

Seems to me that they are looking to make a buck pure and simple - nothing wrong with that, but they should fess up and call it like it is.
