My first handgun was a Ruger Single Six I got when I was about 15. Many years later I gave it to my BiL as a gift shortly before he passed away. It was an excellent revolver.
A couple of years ago I bought a brand-new Blackhawk 45colt/45acp convertible with a 7.5" barrel from Bud's. I gradually realized it was one of my very favorite range toys. Then I saw a slightly rusty Single Six that was missing a piece - I bought it for $135 and fixed it easily (a $20 part and some cold blue). Then I saw a 357 Blackhawk in good shape for $300 and couldn't resist. Then the other day I snagged a 32 H&R Single Six for $400 - not as good a deal, but they are kind of rare. All of the used ones have 6.5" barrels. It is an easy guess that these will be my favorite range toys for quite some time.
Does anyone have advice for some kind of finish for the alloy frame of the 22? I cold blued the barrel, but I'm not sure what to do about the rest of it.
Please excuse the poor quality cell phone picture. I'm sure some of you will be able to add better ones!
