Does anyone make a single-shot bolt-action for a centerfire cartridge?

I've Googled and looked at every website I can think of,,,
I can't find reference or even mention of one.

I own H&R centerfires and I know of the Ruger No 1 rifles,,,
But I am curious about bolt-action rifles.

Anyone know of one?

Yep, bench rest shooters use single shots almost exclusively. The Remington 40-X is available as both a single shot and a repeater. I'm sure there are others.

Cooper rifles. Their Model 21 & 22 are single shot bolt guns.

Some of the Savage Model 12s are single shot as well.

Remington also made the XP-100, and while technically a s.s. handgun, I knew a gunsmith who converted many to rifles with barrels or brakes and new stocks making them legal length. The XP I once had in 7mm BR was scary accurate.

The Remington XR-100 (as opposed to the XP-100 pistol) is a single shot bolt action rifle. Mine is a 223 Remington. Also available in 204 Ruger and 22-250. unfortunately it was discontinued around 2007.

Just for the record you can find a Savage single shot on this web page.

This rifles are very popular around the gun club where I live now. They dominate the 600 yard competitions there according to the range master.

If you get a Cooper, you will never regret it. My .204 shoots .25 with factory ammo. Great workmanship and pretty wood.

I have a handful of Coopers, a Rem 40x and a Sav. M 12. All are single shots meaning they have a solid bottom receiver with no provision for a magazine holding more than one cartridge. Sorry a m700 isn't a single shot, it's a repeater. The Savage while a decent shooter fails in comparison to the Coppers and 40X.

Which 12 do you have? Because I can't imagine a rifle shooting better than the LRPV I have. I didn't build it but I'm sure glad I own it. How much better can a rifle get than sub-.5" groups? I can knock a mouse's eye out at 300 yards all day long. Maybe I just have a good one. It happens.

Still there are substantial differences between some 12's and others. For example some have the Target AccuTrigger and some don't.
