Does anyone still make a BLUE STEEL G.I. Style 1911?
I'm tired of Black guns. Or parkerized. Whatever they call it. Is blue so bad? Does anyone still make a good ole blue 1911 that looks like a true 1911? Thanks.

If you want true "GI Style" it will be parkerized. I've had one from Auto-Ordance for probably 10 years now. Its not a fancy race gun or anything but its nearly same as what I had in the Army. Back then it cost about $300 and I think its nearly the same now.

It's a shooter!

Here you go:

1911WWI.jpg

Specs are here.

WWI Reproduction Colt. There's one listed on GunsAmerica.com now for $1,050.00

Then there's also this:

Specs are here.

Series 70 Replica. There's one listed on GunsAmerica now for $870.00

Kevinch, I think you mean WWI Repro, don't you? That's the one that's shown in your pic. I think the WWII Repro was/is parkerized.

Seraph - you posted your comment before I had a chance to edit & add the Series 70!

But yes---it was a typo. :p

The three pictures above my post pretty well show what is available from Colt right now.

The Custom Shop Series 70 will most likely meet the parameters you are looking for albeit with better sights than the original design.
