I've seen this show a few times and I just have to laugh every time. I mean, does anyone else see how cheesy it is? It's awful. On top of that, Larry Vickers (no offense) , being a former Delta operator, has really let himself go physically. Additionally, have you seen the "Choose Your Weapon" section on each episode? Some of the choices are so stupid. For example: Which weapon would you pick during The Battle for Mogadishu? Weapons: FN SCAR, M14, AK 47. He picked the SCAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He goes, "Even though it wasn't around at the time, it's still my pick for this battle." ***!!!!!????

Anyway, just a rant, and wanted to know what you think of it.

Yeah, I agree, it's pretty cool sometimes. Sometimes it's just laughable. Larry Vickers tries to be so cool, but he's not (in my opinion). The other guy seems to be better.

Actually I kind of like it. Vickers is also on Weaponology and has a bunch of gear with Blue Force Gear so he's not doing too bad.

I liked the house clearing episode where they go through with AR-15s as a team in the beginning, then they go through individually to demonstrate what's good and bad about an MP5, a 12 gauge shotgun, and a Glock 17. While I'd never clear a house myself, it was a nice demo of how each one performed in close quarters indoors.

I watch it on Sportsman Channel. Here's the home page for it - http://www.thesportsmanchannel.com/programming/descriptions/description.php?ID=256

The actual parts where they show tactics: room clearing, sniping, mag changes, etc. are actually pretty solid, from what I have seen. The parts that kill me are the opinions that they give on various weapons. It is really funny how they do that. Those guys REALLY down talk the 5.56. And..... I love how they compare modern weapons vs. weapons in the past.

I saw it in the guide and set my tivo to record it, I flipped through a couple of episodes. It's ok to watch, but it has little to do with real life as a civilian, where you don't apply such tactics, as a soldier, where you don't get to pick and choose gear or as an ....'operator', where the man, mission, training and gear shift so frequently that you aren't going to be referring to something you saw on a TV show anyway.

Your going to do a rate of fire test between a 03 and a Garand so you put a lefty on the 03. Good test. Like you said a good laugh in each show.

i GIGGLE when i watch the show. cuz i got the rewind and slo-mo buttons.

i don't get hung up on the hardware discussions.

if you consider what you're getting for free (!) you get to watch two pros with combat experience demonstrate shooting techniques and tactics.

i've trained with larry and for the first few carbine and pistol classes i felt like i was drinking from a garden hose, and fumbling with a pen and paper to scribble down my notes.

now, i have perfect video to refresh myself on a LOT of stuff that the average joe might overlook.

like ... shooting on the move, carbine switch-shoulder, corner clearning, basic (strong wall) CQB pairs movement and procedure, vehicle immediate action (i think), emergency reloads, and as always, perfect sight alignment and trigger control. amongst many other elements. the hardware talk and historical discussion is just icing on the cake. for me.

complain all you want about the show, the show gives me major wood. lol.

p.s. I did get a chance to shoot the FN SCAR-L. If it were a woman, I would make made passionate love to it.

I think it's the dumbest show I've ever seen with real guns in it. I mean, a coupla old farts playing army against an imaginary enemy like I did when I was five? Gimme a break.
