Does Colt sell stripped lowers now?

I think they are overstock. Arms unlimited seems to get a lot of Colt stuff you don't see elsewhere. G&R tactical has regular Colt stripped lowers for around $250 as well. Not sure if they are take offs or overruns. I would assume over runs because if it was a rifle at some point they couldn't be built into a pistol and that isn't mentioned anywhere

That's a new stamping. Commando has a tm. Originals don't have that and arent marked M4. First I've seen. And yes, pricey.

Colt is releasing an Xm 177 clone, but these lowers look like over runs of a semi auto LE model.

PS, CDNN has Colt competition lowers and kits for a lot less if you really want a Colt marked lower. There are also made for Mexico lowers on that site.

That's pretty neat. I didn't even know Colt marked them for Mexico like that. I definitely have to have one of those.

Any Colt could become a collector's item and they are priced as such. I'd rather shoot them than store them but a Mexico marked Colt might be a good investment. The "Commando" maybe less so. I haven't mentioned this on the Colt forum but I'd bet there's interest over there.

I got one of the Mexico lowers instead. I think it's far more interesting than the commando and the price was reasonable.

You could always give it a back story if you sell it; talk about removing the tracking chip from Operation Fast and Furious then having to smuggle it out of Juarez.

I wonder if Colt will fall from favor over time without a government contract to boost their rep. Yeah I know they're still mentioned in the bid but they aren't so far as I know actually manufacturing rifles under contract at present. I'd still buy one but only at a reasonable price and only with the intention of shooting it.

A few Colt 6920s made for the Mexican government came on the market not too long ago. The Mexican marked lowers likely came from those rifles being bought up, parted out and resold
