Does Gander Mt. Deal on prices?

Hello, 1st post here. I've been eyeing a used revolver at my local Gander Mt. store. I think that it's a little over priced. Does anyone know if they will deal like a gunstore, or being a retailer do they stick to the tagged prices? I don't want to look like an idiot at the counter. It would be like asking if they would take $75 for a $100 pair of boots . Thanks Timmy.

I would think used would be the place you have the best chances of getting something done. I bought a Steyr M9 from them, when it was on clearance, and they took extra off then, though I must admit that it was the salesman who offered it - regardless, though, I'd say it's definitely possible.

I'd ask. Like others say, even if the answer is "no," you can try, and I tend not to beg anyone to take my money.

A better idea may be to wait until they have a sale or coupons.

They will on used, I know that. They also Price match on exact models.

It's my understanding that when they price match, they (and other retail gun sellers) will only do so for guns that are in stock at the competitor's location (unless you get a manager who is willing to override that rule).

Their price match includes a rebate for the difference (up to $50), so you get a little extra jingle for the difference.

One of the Gander Mountains in our area (Huber Heights, Ohio) consistently has some of the best prices of any gun store i've found in Central Ohio. You may want to call that one ((937) 236-9786) and see if the price is the same... Obviously being a chain i would expect them to be, but you may get a surprise...

Hey it never hurts to ask. I have bought 2 new guns and sold 2 guns at Gander Mt. and they had good prices for my new guns and a fair trade in price for my old.

Like most places large or small, they want to move product. That used gun that is the apple of your eye, may have been in the cases for months. Counter guy may phone mgr. and run the lower price by him. Mgr's have sales targets to hit and the worst they could say is no. They might stay with the tag price, but throw in one of their $19.95 gun warranty certificates to sweeten the deal. It includes a free cleaning by the gunsmith within one year of purchase ($40 value).

I ask for discounts at many places I go, up to the big places like Sears. I saw a new rocking chair at Sears once for $79. I ask the salesman about a discount, he said that if I didn't mind him back dating the sale to the day before, he could knock off $20. I had missed the sale the day before.

Ask the Gander Mt. guy. You won't look stupid if you ask with a smile and politely accept his reply. I do that kind of stuff often with good results.
