Bought this Tri-Star pump gun last year. Very happy with it, functions great, no "break in" was necessary. I won't fire it much, maybe fifty times a year, so durability probably isn't a worry.

But I am a bit concerned about one thing. There are no proof marks anywhere on the gun. I have read and heard that we are the only country that DOESN'T have strict, uniform proof laws.

Anybody know anything about this ?

I good friend who has retired from gunsmithing took one apart and gave it his seal of approval. He said there aren't any parts in it that aren't necessary and everything in it is over built. Before he retired he didn't like working on foreign guns, but Tri-star changed his mind about them.

"Turkey is not a signatory to the CIP proof convention and shotguns made there do not pass objective proof"

Found this statement in regards to the OP question.

And, I think if the guns were proofed they would be so marked. Like Winchester did in the US though not required by US law.
