Does your WalMart have Federeal Power Shok ammo instock?

So I only have found one WalMart out of the many I go to that even carries the Federal Power Shok ammo. The haven't had it that I've seen in months. Not sure if they don't get it in or if they sell it as fast as they get it in. I decided to call around today and see if any others within 50 miles had it. I had a few tell me they carried it but didn't have it right now. I was looking for 30-06 ammo and that's what I asked about.

My question is in other area's do many carry it? Do they actually have it instock? Is this something I can expect to find when hunting season is over or is it rare for WalMart to get shipments of it in?

Plenty here (in standard cartridges, particularly .30-06)...but apparently they have quit carrying the .300WM Fed. PS at locations around here (no tag and 7mmRM is now in its place). :banghead:

Wal-Mart has Federal Power Shok .223 50gr. JHP in stock in Boise, about $78 for 200rd value pack. Don't have a 30-06 so can't say about that.

I hope I can find some more in 30-06. I'm not out yet and probably have enough to last through hunting season but I don't know that I will have much after that. Is there a danger of WalMart quitting carrying it or is it just that people buy it up in this area?

BTW for the guys who do see it is it still in the blue boxes or is it in red boxes now? Last I saw here was a red box but it was .270. I haven't seen any in 30-06 in probably 6 or 7 months.

I think it was in blue, but i'm not positive, I was looking for the non-existent .300WM (in the blue box).

My walmart does too, but it sometimes takes a couple of month between deliveries though.

the wal-marts around here always keep federal power shok and remington core lokt in all the popular calibers... isn't the red box only for the vital shok with the nosler partition/ballistic/accubond?

edit: looks like a few people have reported the power shok in a red box. it's still all in blue boxes here. the red box used to let you know it was a high quality bullet like nosler, or barnes.

I believe the new packaging for Power-Shok is red. The blue is likely the older packaging that's still in circulation.

Closest Walmart does not carry ANY firearms, and only small amounts of seasonal ammunition, 22's and shotshells in the early fall, slugs and muzzleloader stuff later in the season.

Yes in Austin; 30'06 about $13.50 a box (180-gr in blue box, 150 in red, both PowrShok). Also available in .308, 30-30, .270

Yeah the WalMart here when they had it was $14 a box. Like $13.97 or something like that.

I really wish I could find some 30-06 in 150 grain but everywhere I've checked and called around here is out.

I called a bunch of places yesterday and found a few that said they carry it but were out right now and had no idea when more would come in.

How often should I call to check on this? The one I've seen it at in the past seems to either only get it in a couple times a year or they are selling it out before I see it. That may be the case since it's hunting season. It just seems odd since they often have Winchester and Remington 30-06 instock though. I guess the Federal is cheaper.

Checked today, and my closest WW was out of .30-06 Power Shok, but did have Fed. .223 bulk and Fed. .22lr bulk.
