Well,

Sold my P229 last year (almost exactly 1 year ago) and regretted it the whole entire year :banghead:

As of late I was really wanting another .40 cal P229, but everybody was selling theirs at prices that made you wonder if SIG was making the frames out of gold :what:

Well, found one locally that a guy was selling for a reasonable price, but something told me go on gunbroker just to see if anyone was flipping their sig for cheap due to bills or needing cash.

well I scored the motherload!!!

I picked up (gotta send out the cash on monday) a P229 that came with 5 mags, 3 holsters, and both a .357 sig and .40 barrels, plus the gun already has the short trigger installed (a must for any SIG carry gun) and guy is claiming a trigger job as well (if bad trigger or sloppy I can stone and polish it myself). plus a night sight!! not bad for under $600 shipped!!!

doing the happy dance now :neener::D

just need to drop in a set of hogue grips (the older 2 piece thin models) and a bedair stainless guide rod (a must for any SIG in my opinion).

i have not shot the .357 sig out of a p229, but my p239 in .357 sig shoots like a lazer. that same 239 is minute of barn with .40 S&W. I will experiment with both the .40 and .357 to see which is better out of that gun, but my last 229 in .40 would hit the X all day long up to 30 meters with winchester ranger 155gr hp's which were my plinking rounds (i have friends that are Border Patrol and they used to get tons of ammo to shoot each month and I would tag along when they shot and use their ammo). too bad I actually will have to buy .40 S&W now (they cut back to issuing around 100rds a month for practice).
