FedEx Shipping

I've been trading guns alot lately, and I'm hoping to stop. Shipping guns aint cheap:D Today I sent one out using FedEx, and wished I'd used them before today. USPS Priority mail usually ran me about $15 to ship, which wasn't bad, but my dealer said it was a PIA waiting in line at the Post Office, and would rather not do it. So off to FedEx I go, expecting to spend $30 or more on shipping & insurance, and what a pleasant supprise after all was said and done, I laid out a whopping $9.50!:) If your not in a great hurry, you can ship across country, in 4 Days with FedEx Ground. Don't call the 1-800 number, because the very missinformed person I talk to, told me only a Dealer w/ an FFL could ship, and it had to be next day air$$$$$ Boy was she wrong:)

Yep. I had always been told that you had to use FedEx overnight for handguns. The last time I shipped one the lady at the counter said that was only true if you used FedEx packaging. If you use your own packaging you can use other options. She even found an old box and packed it for me so I could use third day shipping. Saved about 20 bucks.

IMO FedEx Ground is the best there is for shipping rifles. I've used them pretty much since day 1 after the RPS buyout and they have always been fantastic. Rarely will it cost much more than $10 for me to ship a rifle just about anywhere within the continental US. They certainly don't inspect packing or contents like UPS counter folks do. They are highly recommended especially for your rifle shipping needs :D

Where UPS gets ya is a start a charge for fuel and insurance is free
up to $100 and a $1 per hundred there after. Package size has a
formula also. A 03 barrel with $200 insurance was $13 and some change.
It took 8 days to go from the west coast to the east.:fire::fire:

Even mt boss, who is an FFL holder is under the assumption that handguns
must be shipped overnight air by FED-EX; as that is what we have been
told to tell our customers for a very long time.

I do think that is the preferred method, cuz it cuts down on
the possibility of your firearm being stolen off of a terminal
dock, awaiting too be shipped~? :)
