Birmingham, AL will be home to an RWVA Appleseed Rifle Clinic the weekend of Jun 24,25.

In case you don't know about these, the Revolutionary War Veteran's Association is a group of Patriots who understand that one of the components of winning the war against tyrrany (hey, the War on Tyranny...sounds good!) is a citizenry trained and equipped to fight with rifles.

If you want to argue that point, please do it in another thread...this one is for an even announcement.

You can read more about the RWVA and it's goals here:
http://rwva.blogspot.com/2005/04/appleseed-program-help-us-save-america.html

Since becoming involved, I have become much more involved in my own citizenship responsibilities and also vastly improved in rifle marksmanship.

I encourage you to do the same.

Come to Birmingham, AL for a weekend of instruction in the fundamentals of delivering sustained, rapid fire from that beautiful battle rifle you own. Details can be found in this thread:
http://www.rwva.org/yabbse/index.php?topic=575.0

Bring your kids, there will be a dedicated youth instructor to work with the young 'uns. As always, kids under 21 shoot for free.

An Appleseed Rifle Clinic is a great time of reverent reflection on the roots of our nation, the problems we face today and the bleak outlook for the future of liberty in America. It's also really fun and satisfying to see yourself improve and to spend the weekend with other Americans who love freedom enough to get off the couch and do something about it.

I'll see you there.

Good program by what i have read. Do you know if they plan on having one in the Phoenix area, i've heard rumors of one in Nov. but haven't seen anything concrete.

They seem to have them where:
a) there's a location
b) someone local scouts out and works out the details for the location

Got a range in Phoenix? If you come up with a location and help market the thing, we'll:
a) publicize it
b) send instructors to run the event (all volunteer...you just help us cover our travel expenses)

So, one in Phoenix? Sure...start doing the legwork and let us know when and where, it's up to you.

Lets get this back to the top. Guys I drove 4 hrs a few weeks ago to attend the Appleseed shoot in Evansville, IN. Absolutely fantastic! You'll meet a great bunch of people and have a great time, not to mention learning quite a bit. I'm planning on going to the Kentucky shoot and the Rifleman boot camp in NC later this year. They don't care what type of rifle you bring, semi or bolt is ok. I used a PTR-91 and left with a very satisfied feeling towards myself and my equipment.

Davo:

We need reports from boots on the ground in CA and NV...you find us a place (remember - doesn't have to be a range; private or public land with appropriate permissions, a solid backstop, and a firing line to hold at least 30 shooters in prone on a 25 meter/27 yard/1000 inch target line) and we'll try to get there.

Ditto to the other poster re AZ.

Still time to get to Worland for this weekend, too...

Three solid days of instruction for $70 -- where can you beat that?

Guess what's worth more than all the modifications, accessories and super-ultra-match grade ammo you could ever possibly afford:

Instruction in the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship followed by practicing firing the shot from the most common field positions.

If you ever have to use that rifle to save your life, your family, your community or your country; it'll be your true field marksmanship skills that will make you able.

We at RWVA want to help you to become able and then encourage you to share/spread that ability with everyone you know.

Imagine a whole nation of American men who can consistently demonstrate headshots in the field, moving from cover to cover, at 200-300 yds. That kind of population would justly give pause to any force that wanted to come in here and insist that we start doing things their way!

At an Appleseed Rifle Clinic, you'll spend 2 days focused on the historical context of civilian rifle marksmanship, your role in saving America and the fundamentals of accurately shooting your battle rifle...with 30-50 other Americans who are just like you!

Come out to one of our events and see for yourself:

500-600rds will be *plenty*!

I think a suggested ammo requirement is posted on one of the sites I referenced above. I seem to remember using about 300rds my first time.

I'm under 21. If I show up at this thing, do I have to pay ANY fees? Range use fee? Normally I wouldn't worry about it but I can't even afford the one day fee right now. :D Do I need to preregister or can I just show up?

Time & place??

Neoncowboy--The event from yr list closest to me would be the WI Appleseed event on 6/17-18/06. Could you list a time and place for this?

("Closest" being as always, a relative term.)

Sounds interesting. Iron sights required, 'scopes OK? 500 rds of ammo in a day--sounds like some serious banging! :)

Thought I'd chime in again. You can go to RWVA's homepage for all your info needs, look for the Forum link in the top left. Iron sights are encouraged, but scopes are fine if that's your wish. 500rds would be enough for BOTH days of the clinic, 150-200rds per day is about what we did in Evansville.
