What would be your doom's day gun? Mine would have to be a glock 17. I love it to death and it is the most reliable i have ever owned or fired.

Handguns: Springfield XD-.45 ACP

Rifles: Colt M4A3 .223

Shotgun: Remington 12 gague 870 Marine Magnum

Glock 17 is a good choice.

We have a Sig 226 in 9mm, which I affectionately refer to as our zombie gun. Accurate, fast follow-up shots, will eat anything, and has 15-round mags. I love it, and wish we had another, plus about 10 more mags and a few cases of ammo.

Like Ala Dan, you'd need several for different encounters.

* XD .45 with 5+ clips as a sidearm
* AR15 M4 .223 as the primary
*DPMS LR .308 for long range
* last but not least and of course winchester 1300 defender 12 ga.

One gun, three common ammo types. When society crumbles it is going to be hard to find that .45gap or .357sig, but every general store and S-Mart in the country has plenty of .357, .38, and 9mm.

I want the mini-gun that Jessie Ventura has. I mean, if the S is hitting the fan big time, and there is no way of returning to any type of civilization, I want that thing.

If i can't have that, I want a pair of Thompson sub's with the drum mags. Then i'll put on my pinstripe 3 piece suit and go out in style.

Well, outside of a Vulcan, I guess my doomsday gun wouldn't be a pistol at all. Heck, it's doomsday, whos gonna give me a hassle? No, my gun would be my SKS. It's not the most modern gun in the world, but they are reliable, have a better cartridge for doomsday operations than do the AR's, and in the case of my SKS carbine, are just as short and handy. In the case of my other SKS, they also have a bayonet, allowing me to poke my way through doomsday lines at the 7-11. I would likely carry a pistol as backup, and given that capacity is king with the large, unruly doomsday crowds, I would go with my PT-99. I would prefer .45, but spraying down a doomsday crowd is easier with 14 shots than it is with 7.

Well i meant pistol's but i would definately have my bushmaster and my remington on hand. And i am sorry let me clarify. The new wall being built start's havok and all hell break's loose with rioting and looting. The national guard need's reenforcement's form the civilian sector to keep the peace in the street's and the "non-violent" protestor's are showing there true color's kind of doom's day.

A .22 rifle, a pair of good knives, and a USGI .45 autopistol...Remington Rand or Colt, please, and heavy on the .22 ammo. I'll avoid fights like cooties, but rednecks still gotta eat.

Right now I think it would be my Glock 20 with a handful of mags and a conversion barrel to .40 S&W or a 4" TacSol Mk II .22LR as a secondary weapon, and a Fulton Armory 18" M14 dropped into a Sage Chop Mod with a 1-4 Nightforce or a DS Arms Para Congo with an ACOG as my primary.
