Wooster Oh
I was on armslist last night and I saw a FNP9 that I really liked. So of course I emailed him and offered him a couple guns and gave him directions to my listing with the stuff that I had up for trade. Then this morning when I get up I have an email from him asking if I could throw one more gun in on the trade and if I could just text him a pic and he gave me his phone number. No problem, I have done this God knows how many times. This time though about two minutes after hitting send I got a call from a not to happy sounding gentleman wanting to know why I had just text him a picture of a gun... he did not have an FNP9 that he was looking to trade. I explained what happened and apologized, I can only imagine his reaction to seeing a random gun being texted to him first thing in the morning :what:. Its amazing how one number off can screw up the whole phone number isnt it.

I have a habit of punching the wrong numbers so I will probably never text an image of a gun cause with my luck it'll end up on the nightly news.

Yeah, I'm done texting gun pics. I didn't even type in the number. It was a link on my iPhone so I was able to just click on it and text the guy. And plus one on the gun of the day app.

Don't worry, I texted a picture of my "gun that's for fun" to the wrong number once. Now THAT is awkward.

I'm a County Election Commissioner. Last election I had to go out to a fairly remote precinct and fix a balky computer voting machine. The Clerk of Court gave me the 1-800 support number to call, if I needed it. I did and called it.

Turns out the computer company number is a 1-866 number. If you call the same number with a 1-800 prefix, you get a phone sex line.

(I wondered why the gal on the other end kept asking me if I was naked.):p

My number is very close to that of a local catholic church (XYYX to XYXY), and there is this one older sounding woman that calls me 3 Thursdays out of 4 asking about the Sunday mass schedule. She's not the only caller for the church, but she is the most regular, it has gotten so that I don't even try to correct her I just give her the mass times... for a church I have never been inside of. A wrong number gun photo would be rather a nice change of pace.

Yeti, that is great. When I was on a port call in Australia anyone that had overnight liberty had to call in by 2:00 AM. The ships number was the same as some poor guys number, you had to add a one to the beginning of the ships number though. Poor guy had gotten a couple dozen calls before he got to me around 1:30. He said that he was taking his phone off the hook as soon as he hung up with me. At least he was understanding and didn't get rude or anything.

Dark Knight, that sucks LMAO

Our home phone number is one digit off from the local Domino's Pizza's. After MANY irate calls from many "customers" who were sure they'd dialed correctly, and that I was "just messing with them", I finally just started taking orders.

I don't wait for them to actually order specific items, I just assure them that "we" know who they are, and exactly what they want.

I've never had a complaint call yet about how slow the service is, or that they didn't get exactly what they wanted. I'm guessing they actually CHECKED the number the second time around, and got who they wanted to talk to.

Why is it if someone calls a wrong number, suddenly it's the person they called by mistake's fault anyway?

Not exactly gun related but the city fire dept here controls the burn permit phone line, you call and get a number that allows you to burn brush and tells you if it's not safe that day, well one of our guys one day just asked aloud what the number was for the local public announcement, well he got two of the numbers backwards and boy was his face red when we got a few complaint calls saying they were very unhappy with the given number

Yep you guessed it, steamy chat

My home phone is the same as the local Chevy garage except the middle two numbers are reversed. Get a lot of calls for them but so far able to get it sraightened out. Told them about it when I was getting my vehicle worked on and they thought it was funny but again so did I.

Playing along with such silly calls are often a good source of amusement.

I did that once to some angry woman that thought I was her boyfriend and was threatening to leave. When I saw it was approaching hang-up territory, I mentioned that I have no idea who this Dave is, but I'd sure as heck leave her for using such foul language.

She let out this awesome squeak, a few "ohmigod, I'm so sorry"s and hung up.

I bet that's the last time she called a wrong number for a break-up ultimatum.

That's happened to some of our customers. Turns out 1-800-GM-Trucks and 1-800-GMC-Trucks get you to two ENTIRELY different places :) One gets you to roadside assistance and one asks you to press a number for a hot sexy blonde.

Does she also offer roadside assistance?
