Double Rifle Smith?

Any recommendations for a QUALITY old school gunsmith who is not afraid to make parts for an antique German double rifle?

This job will require manufacture of a metric screw and a spring, and will be performed on a rifle worth five figures. In addition I will need the bore slugged, a chamber cast done, and identification of the chamber and bore made.

This is not a job for bubba the AR-15 "builder" who calls himself a gunsmith, but for a real Gunsmith.

References and a review of similar work done previously will be required. Prior experience on high grade shotguns would be a very close analog of the action work needing to be done here. In a prior part of my life I worked as a smith myself and could have done the work, but now I do not have shop access or time. I know enough to sort out the poseurs from the real deal, but need some references to skilled smiths to start with.

IMHO, that would be a short list of one. Champlin Arms and J.J. are first class.

Jim Kelly at Darlington Gun Works was trained by classic French gunsmiths in the late 50's or early 60's - he does phenomenal work on high-end doubles and European-style firearms.
