Double set trigger problem

I just got a Cabela's .54 Hawken. I have to pull the set trigger very,very hard to get it to actually set. Usually all it does is make me think that it is set, but when I pull the trigger to drop the hammer all it does is "un-set" the set trigger. I can't live with it...........I tried to break it in by setting and pulling the triggers, and all I got is blisters. I figure I'm going to have to get into it, so just ordered a good set of screwdrivers from Brownells.

Hopefully it's only a minor adjustment that needs to be made. How the wood is inletted can sometimes interfere with moving parts too.

I just had a similar problem with a Spanish caplock rifle. It was adjustment in my case.
