i was wondering what you fellow's thought of double tap ammo? has anybody shot any of it ? i was thinking about ordering some.
the 147 gr. 9mm+p seems like a thumper.

thanks for any info:)

I've used it for carry in both .40 and 9mm.

I wouldn't recommend the 147 grain 9mm as the Gold dot 147 is a very long bullet, and you can see where the case is expanded a bit around the bottom edge of the bullet. It works fine in a Glock, but I wouldn't bet on it fitting in a match chamber. The 127 (or 124, whichever it is) is perfect.

Never a malfunction, never a problem of any kind. In fact, it was the only ammo that a certain jammomatic Glock 27 would digest. Sold it anyway. Kept the ammo :)

The ammo is very good. Well the .40S&W and the .357mag. The 40 I shot had no malfunctions in a S&W M&P. Well the gun has been fed probably a little over 5000rds and no more than 10 malfunctions but none were with Double Tap.

I know a guy that likes it and has a whole stockpile of Double Tap. So it must be good.

Great stuff

Every Double Tap load I've tried has been great. 100% reliable, generally hot but accurate. I recommend them highly. I've found it to be a better deal than many other premium loads. Other ammo in the same general category (personal defense) is Ranger and Federal HST.

Double Tap Ammo

I use it in my G-33 357sig and my 38. Hot loads, very accurate and reasonably priced. Purchase it from Midway USA.

I have found double tap ammo to be of outstanding quality and reliability. Only question is if they make what you want. My preferences in various calibers are:

45 Colt 300gr JHP at at least 1,000 FPS
45 ACP 230GR GD JHP+P at 950 FPS
44 Special 200gr SWC HP at 900 FPS
10MM 180gr GD JHP at 1,100 FPS
40S&W 165GR GD HP a 1,000 FPS
357 SIG 125gr JHP GD at 1,300 FPS
357 MAG 158 GR JSP at 1,100 FPS minimum
38 Special 158GR SWCHP+P at 950 FPS
9mm 124GR GD JHP at 1,250 FPS
380 85GR GD at 900 FPD

Double Tap meets my spec in some calibers but not all. I really like their 168 GR JHPBT 308 and the 110 GR 308

I carry the 125gr Gold-dot .357 loads in my M&P340. Plenty of veolcity out of a 1 7/8" barrel!

Also very reasonably priced compared to "Premium" brand SD ammo. Prices ranghe $24-$29 a box (50) depending on caliber at my local place.

Their 135gr load operates at 42000psi, SAAMI max is 37,50psi. Use your imagination.

Do a search for them on Glocktalk's Caliber Corner.
