Anyone have any experience with the Doublestar M4 rifles?

Looking for opinions as to whether they're worth the approx $670 or a waste of money & time.

They're OK. Better than the worst, definitely not anything special. They tend to be more consumer focused, and to the extent they strive for anything it's accuracy (vs. reliability, durability, mil-spec, etc.).

In the same price range are good options from S&W, DS Arms and Spike's Tactical. For a little more a whole lot of options open up. What are your uses and goals?

My Doublestar shoots sub-moa and has been flawless. I was wondering whether to stick with it or go with an M&P 15 for a little bit more.

My uses would be for plinking, hunting, as well as defense. The Doublestar serves these purposes perfectly. If I was to buy another AR and did not have the money for a Colt, I would get another Doublestar.

The 4 rounds next to the .223 casing were fired from 200 yards.....with Herters 62gr HPs (the other hits were from my little brother doing some shooting)

I'm just looking for a fun gun. A range gun. I've priced Bushmasters, but for their price, I might as well go for the Colt 6920!!

I've a DS lower for a couple of years with a DPMS upper. No problems, but I did go with the Geissle trigger. Would have done this with most others too. From what I've read and folks that have them around here, they are a good deal. Got mine thru Centerfire Systems for, I think, $229.. Not bad.

I bought one for my father in law. he's not had any problems with steel or brass. hits head sized targets with a red dot no problem.

My DS lower has had a few malfunctions due to the trigger pin walking out, which ties up the gun pretty well. Looking for an oversized pin now.
