I sold most of what I collected over a lifetime to a dealer in Houston, noice folks "Collectors Firearms". Now, please don't tell me how I could have done so much better if I had sold them to your Uncle Fudd.
Anyway, down to:
blue steel Ruger Redhawk 5.5 inch,
Ruger Deerfield carbine,
Norweigan Krag 6.5 carbine,
Mossberg 835 (for those 3.5 inch shells),
Stoeger 12 guage Coacg Gun.
That ought to get me through my remainining days out here in the southern Rockies. The elk about walk up to me since they feed on my bales. The two and four footed predators can be handles with either shotgun.
As with some other old men, I am leaning towards buying a Ruger #1 in .30-06. There is something about the simplicity and purity of a single shot rifle that is appealing after a lifetime of bolt actions, lever action, slide action, semi-auto action.
Anybody else ever get that notion?
