DPMS 24 Special...Can it be Done?

If I were so inclined to put a traditional A2 setup carry handle and front sight on this rifle, could I and would it be functional?

I know a carry handle wouldn't be a problem. My concern is whether the FSB rail section is equal to the task of mounting a functional, traditional style front sight.

I'm also aware this is a waste of the rifle's accuracy potential and it would be too long, too heavy, etc. Not looking to hash out the wisdom of doing so. Just wanted to know if I could.

The front rail is part of the gas block on the barrel.
Mounting a front sight is what it is there for.

So far sounds like a resounding yes. I had read there might be issues with the FSB rail being a skosh lower than the rail on the receiver.
