Which magazine do people think would be better for my DPMS 5.56 Sportical rifle, the DPMS 30 round teflon coated magazines or the 30 round Colt AR mags. I see the COlts are more expensive and maybe better quality, but I don't know. However, would the DPMS mags be better suited for the DPMS gun, since they are same brand, and I would think, made for the DPMS guns?

Naw, not really, they'll all fit the same. Actually, some of the best mags you can get arent brand name (Colt, DPMS, Bushmaster, etc) but rather various military contract, aka "GI", mags.

Don't get ProMags they suck but most any good GI contract stuff with the anti tilt followers run great in my DPMS rifles.

I would personally never use DPMS mags as my friend has a couple and they always seem to jam up on him. I pretty much only have Colt mags and have not had a single jam in over 2,000 rounds. To me it’s about confidence and after seeing my friends DPMS mags jam up I don’t think I would ever buy one. My Colt mags have never let me down so far and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it

Hope the bad things you say about DPMS mags don't apply to their .308 models. That is because I hardly can find any other type of magazine for a DPMS .308 than the DPMS .308 mags. But good advice on the AR15 mags.. I will purchase the Colt brand, seems like a winner. Now I wondre how can I tell if they are authentic or fakes?

DPMS .308 mags have been very reliable for me.

For 5.56, I'd use Magpul Pmags over the Colt or DPMS. Very strong and feed perfectly. The only problem is finding them in stock where someone isn't asking double the retail price.

I have a USGI 20rnd and I traded the 2 30rnd mags that came with my sportical for 2 20rnd promags at my local shop. So far theyve all worked perfect for me. I honestly have no need for a 30rnd mag.

You probably got a couple with your new rifle from DPMS, keep them fresh and new looking in case you want to sell later. Got the opportunity to get some Colts? Collect them, for later.

Then go get some P-Mags and shoot the daylights out of em'

They will take care of you.

Buy the cheapest and change the springs and followers when and if a issue rears it's ugly head. Most mags have anti tilt followers now so thats not going to be a problem. Just my oppinion. It worked for me.

Heckler & Koch AR-15 Mags

I have a Bushmaster AR-15 and have tried several different types of mags for the rifle but the ones I have found to have run flawlessly in it are the Heckler & Koch AR-15 mags, I know they are a little pricey but IMO WELL worth the price.

if you want the best mags on the market get the p mags. they are only alittle more money wise but they are the best thing going.

i have not been impressed with the dpms mags that i have seen in the past.

you can't go wrong with a U.S GI mag/ colt either.
