DPMS LR-308B, love the rifle, HATE the trigger...

What are my options?

I'd rather not break the bank, but I'm wasting a good rifle with this thing.

I'd rather not spend $100's on one, so cheaper options are preferred, but I'll take a look at anything.

Links are good as well.:)

Thanks guys!

Get yourself a Rock River drop in target trigger. A little over a hundred bucks, drop it in, go shooting. It's the best one on the market, IMHO.

This might be a stupid question, but is there a difference between a ar 15 trigger and an ar 10 trigger?

Without disassembling 2 of my rifles, I am looking and I don't really see any difference...I ask because I have been searching the internet for

DPMS + trigger
AR 10 + trigger
drop + trigger
match + trigger

and all I am finding is ar15/m16 triggers.

I am not familiar with AR triggers at all...My LR-308 is brand new, and my AR trigger is a lovely RRA 2 stage that I haven't had issues with and will never change.

I have a White Oaks Armament tuned Rock River 2 stage trigger in my DPMS. It is crisp and very repeatable.

Most triggers for AR-15s work in the DPMS and AR-10.

The DPMS LR-308 uses standard AR-15 type trigger parts. Aside from the RRA match trigger (which is good) there are several drop-in trigger modules like the McCormick unit:

I think the Armalite AR-10 (and some others) use different parts and cannot use a standard LPK. I'll leave that one for you to dheck.

Ahhh, good news...Makes my project much easier.:)

Well, I'm gonna start doing some searching...If anyone has anymore opinions, feel free to share.;)

Edit: BTW, how is the RRA match trigger? I like the sound of spending <$100 on it...Basically I want to know if there is an $80-90 difference in the RRA match and a chip drop in.

I've got the AP-4, and used the Armalite Two stage match in mine. Significant improvement. I know exactly what you're talking about with the factory trigger. Be careful about putting in the Rock River trigger if you plan on doing it yourself. DPMS told me that it would be a drop in, but it wasn't. The bolt was binding against it as it travelled, and I personally (as well as the gun store owner) did not feel comfortable grinding it down to make it work. Luckily he had the Armalite trigger on hand and it worked beautifully. That being said, you could always ship it back to DPMS and have them do it. My one experience with their customer service department in correcting a problem was supremely positive, and wouldn't hesitate to work with them again for future work or upgrades. Hope this helps and good luck.

on my LR24 i went with Bill Springfield

Bill can get these in the 2.75lbs area with a clean break, this runs $46, this includes lightening the hammer and a match spring kit installed. he will need the trigger, hammer, disconnector, and their associated springs.

Return postage is included, took 5 days to get mine back

Thanks guys, yeah that helps...

Me either.:)

I'm contemplating just getting some new springs and giving the sear a light polishing to see if I can fix the problem for ~$10.

You can, get some Break-free some 1500 grit sandpaper and a real fine stone. Lightly smooth all the bearing surfaces. It will not lighten the pull, but it will make it smooth and break like glass. Remember you are not removing metal just smoothing the mating surfaces. Enjoy.

The stone works better on the mating surfaces of the hammer trigger and sear so you dont round the edges of change the angles.
