I have the longer length Draco which I have fitted with the Magpul AFG, Tapco furniture and a Krink style flash hider. Playing, around I put an EO Tech optic on and a Zytel magazine to minimize weight.

Now I can pull the pistol back toward my shoulder and feel pretty solid but if I somehow fitted an extended and raised receiver cover I would have a nice cheekhold (and extra mass between my face and the hot stuff).

Any ideas how this could be done?

Thank, A

Sounds to me like you should just SBR it.

+1

Any modification that makes a pistol easily fired from the shoulder could be "manufacturing" an illeagal weapon.

If you don't want to pay the $200 entry fee, I'd advise a letter to the BATFE to verify they see no problem with your design.

After-market stock makers like Slide-Fire Solutions have done so, you'd also be wise to do so before proceeding.

I really do understand that any alteration that adds anything that comes in contact with the shoulder would be restricted. However a cheek weld is the plan and would not contact the shoulder. The biggest stabilizing effect is the complete flexion of the firing arm, the cheek weld would add one more point of stabilization.

Thanks A

As long as you don't add a stock w/o the Tax stamp, you should be ok.

My suggestion is just learn how to shoot it as is with the RDS of your choice. I have a Draco also with a red-dot and it is accurate to 30yards off-hand. That is really the best accuracy you can expect without adding a stock to it.

might be skating on thin ice but how about getting an AR buffer adapter, adding an AR pistol buffer and using that.

Jake, I think that will lose some of the compactness of the Draco. JMO, and I believe he has to replace/buy a rear trunion if he wants to install some kind of stock or buffer tube.

But the pistol tube is an option. not one I would do personally. If he had the patience I would just go with the SBR route and pay the $200 tax stamp.

I'm not sure I would want a Draco against my cheek while firing! My best results personally have come from equipping one with a sling and keeping the sling tight while shooting it. No mods required.
