If you could have any rifle in the world, money not being an object. What would it be??

Since the variances in styles of rifles vary so much, I'll break it up into categories.

1. Any type of auto-loading military/tactical style rifle

2. Collectible rifles

3. Precision rifles

4. Competition rifles

5. Hunting rifles

6. Sentimental rifles

7. Any other rifles

Mine would be: 1. full-auto, short-barreled, piston system ar style rifle
2. 4-bore (technically a rifle) 3. Tac-ops X-ray in .300wm 4. some sort of fully custom bench-rest rifle 5. I don't really know 6. My S&W .357/.38spl that my grandfather used in the ATF OR my browning 12ga made in Belgium that was my fathers first gun(tons of stories to this shotgun) 7. I guess it's technically under #1, but MA' DEUCE :neener:

Hmmmm.....

1) M1 Garand
2-5) Cooper bolt action in .260 Remington w/ quality optics
6) My Dad's damascus barreled 16 gauge side-by-side
7) Custom chambered Browning high wall single shot

I'd be happy with a Cooper Excalibur in 25-06; which can be had for inside of $2,000. But my Sako 75 Finnlight just may be every bit as good as a Cooper. But the Cooper is guaranteed to shoot 1/2MOA

Dreams...

1. Ma Deuce. (Hey, she's surely autoloading!!)

2. An original Pennsylvania flintlock.

3. Custom-made benchrest rifle on a Stolle Panda action.

4. See #3 above.

5. Custom-made-for-me Purdey double in .416 Rigby. Since I'd have to go to London to get it, I'd come home by way of a 2-week African safari.

6. An early Winchester M-94. Or a percussion Schuetzen rifle.

7. All right, give me a Tubb 2K in .30 Creedmoor.

Well, you said money no object. Dream On!!

Not to brag, but in actually I could have any rifle but I do not. Reason for me is practicality. For example at my range there is this guy that shoots a 50 cal bmg once in a while. The distance is only 200 yds. That is all there is within a 3 hour drive. So why would I need a 50 cal. for 200 yds when your limits are so constraint.

1 and 2 1921 Thompson Sub machine gun made by Colt previously owned by Elliot Ness
3 and 4 Pre64 M70 Target in .30-06 previously owned by Carlos Hathcock
5. As new Pre war M70 Supergrade in .257 Roberts
6. Granpa's 1903 Winchester
7. Exhibition grade Pre64 M94 one of rifle in 38-55

I'll play:

1. Any type of auto-loading military/tactical style rifle: Colt made B.A.R.

2. Collectible rifles: Rockola M1 Carbine

3. Precision rifles: AWC in 308 or if available in 30-06, I'd have to do some talking about a scope and supressor with the guys at Thunderbeast

4. Competition rifles Colt 6940 or the new 308 convertable Colt and shoot it in iron-man division.

5. Hunting rifles CZ bolt gun.. maybe a 550 full stock in .30-06.

6. Sentimental rifles A Marlin 336 Texan like my brother's

7. Any other rifles Uzi, because i doubt anyone else will choose it. Or a 1894 Marlin in 32-20

I will bite ( just off the top of my lower cost head)

1. Any type of auto-loading military/tactical style rifle

2. Collectible rifles.
Newton Arms Standard Model Bolt Action Rifle in 256 Newton

3. Precision rifles. M24.... once again dance with the one that brought you

4. Competition rifles... Remington XB-40 with all the whistle and bells

5. Hunting rifles Savage 116 Left hand with three barrels 257 wby, 300 win and 338 win mag

6. Sentimental rifles My father 742 Woodmaster 30.06

7. Any other rifles Two Ruger #1 one international in 7x57 and No1B in 300 Weatherby

1) If I could afford it, a SBR FAL w/ para stock
5) the VZ24 7x57 19" carbine I'm building
7) 20 over 7x57R drilling or a Ruger #1 RSI in 7x57 would be nice

An M60. Wouldn't really mind if it was a shooter or collector because ultimately all my guns are shooters. Might talk my self into renting an m60 at the scottsdale gun club and shoot 50 round for like 200 bucks don't know yet if I want to spend that much for a fun 5 minutes though lol.

Mine are pretty simple. I already have the rifles, but my dream would be an unlimited budget to modify them:

1. My Marlin 1894 .44 Magnum - Basically I would have someone like Grizzly Customs work it over. 16.5" barrel, flush magazine, 1895-style mag tube, parkerized finish, smooth action, etc.

2. My S&W M&P15OR - Add expensive high-end things like an EOTech, magnifier, FF quad rail, Surefire weapon light, etc. All the parts I have on it now (sights, red dot, scope rings, quad rail, flashlight mount and pressure switch, etc.) are budget-build parts.

I tend to want to customize what I have before I move on to the next platform.

A custom precision rifle

A custom precision rifle for hunting! I think I would choose a blueprinted mauser mo3 action and a shilen barrel 24 inch medium vamint in a McMillan stock OR maybe a fine walnut exclusive, or maybe a nice laminated not sure. Caliber 270WSM.
