Drill Press cases trimmer

I use a Lee case trimmer pilot & cutter in my drill press.

Hand hold the cases on the drill press table, and it becomes the depth stop.

I've been using the cheap Lee hand trimmers in a small rechargeable screw driver for years. I sit and watch TV while trimming, Works great. hdbiker

My first one crapped out after a few cases and returned it to Midway for warranty.

do you have any more details on how exactly it "crapped out"? i'm having trouble imagining a way it could possibly break.

Another vote for the WFT. I've got 6 versions to handle all my different cartridges and couldn't be happier. My drill press is probably 50 years (or more) old so it's solid as a rock.

I did it this way for a lot of years. I think the cutter came with my first reloading kit and the pilots cost about two bucks (at the time).
It would be hard to find a cheaper way to trim cases. I you work in small batches it works great.

I run a WFT from Little Crow on the end of a flex shaft driven by my drill press. That allows me to sit, hold the flex shaft with one hand and insert cases with the other. Very easy, and you can swap hands or hold at any angle. I just did about 100 5.56 cases in a couple of minutes.

I use a Forster see their catalog
The Power Case Trimmer from Forster integrates your standard drill press and can really speed up the case trimming process. Trim length is controlled by the drill press spindle stop; a line-up bar is built in for easy collet set-up; and pilots from the Original trimmer interchange with the Power Trimmer.
Buy it from Brownell's/Sinclair for a satisfaction guarantee.

- works just fine for taking lots of brass off - I tend to run mass lots of military/police range scrap through small base dies and they do need a lot of cutting. I'm not going to bother looking it up but somebody (RDZ) is currently offering a fancier out of the box setup somebody else has one with pilots stored in the base.

I use the drill press for taking off lots of brass and a Wilson/Sinclair deluxe for square mouths and exact lengths.

New trimmer

I picked up a new trimmer from eztrimit.com.

http://eztrimit.com

Works as well as the CTS trimmer.

They custom made a die for 5.7x28mm, and also purchased the .308 and 30.06.
It cuts clean, no chamfering or deburring needed.
The micrometer adjustment works well.

I too am using a Lee Auto Prime to hold the case, when trimming using either a cordless drill or drill press. Less wear and tear on the fingers!
