A person can only conceal carry a gun that is registered to themselves, correct? If so, is it possible to get duel owership on a handgun? I'm curious if there is a way that the wife and I can both carry the same gun (not at the same time of course).

Famine, does your handgun(s) have to be registered by Big Brother & Big Nanny in your State??

In Idaho, handguns are not registered, nor does a handgun(s) have to be listed on your CCW license.

If you are going to get in a "duel" it would only be fair to let the other person have a gun.

However, if you are concerned about "dual" ownership, then you don't need to worry in the majority of "free states" that have no firearms registration. Everything that I own in this community property state also belongs to my wife. However, if wanted to loan or give any of my weapons to any other person I could do so without jumping through any government hoops.

Remember, IANAL and YMMV.

"...In Alabama, anything I own belongs to my wife also..." That applies everywhere. What's your's is her's and what's her's is her's. snicker.
"...in the majority of "free states" that have no firearms registration..." Except for the ATF's defacto registration with their forms.
Famine, it depends on where you are.

As above, it depends on your STATE. In PA loaning of handguns is permitted between LTCF holders.

i think you present a slightly different, and in your favor option here.

for the ccw don't you have to list a specific gun as your carry gun?
(i guess that varies state to state)
anyway if that is the case, each of you listing the same gun as your carry gun
seems like it should be acceptable.
it could go a few ways.
it tells the sheriff here are two people and one gun, so ultimately one less gun out there, that since only one of you can carry it at a time, what is the difference, OR worst case, it opens up the courts to a
he had it/ she had it debate in a courtroom if someone gets shot by that gun.

there is some validity to that i'm afraid.

as for loaning guns, it does appear most atates at least allow stuff like my friend can bring out ten of his guns and shooting together in the woods, it's ok for me to use his if he is there.

as for "duel ownership" i don't think they'll sell you a gun if you tell them you need it for a duel.

Even in the Peoples Republic of Communits California and even on the Assult Rifles as they call them here, my wife can use my weapons with out my supervision... but if she breaks any laws, we both go to jail!

DUAL...yes, that is correct. I don't want to duel with my wife...well...not tonight at least.:D

It's a long shot, but ...

Can you transfer (register) a handgun to a trust in Michigan?

I'm in Michigan too.
3. Is it okay if I loan my pistol to a friend?

MCL 28.432 An individual can carry, possess, use or transport a pistol belonging to another individual, if the pistol is properly licensed and inspected under the Act, and the individual carrying, possessing, using or transporting the pistol has obtained a license to carry a pistol concealed permit from Michigan.

Really? So anyone with a CCW can carry anyone else's gun as long as it is registered. That seems pretty liberal, no pun intended.

The fact that you are subject to some form of pistol registration (and all the rest of the "inspection" crap that you have to put up with) seems pretty draconian to me.

About half of the firearms that I own are totally "unregistered" to me due to the fact that I obtained them FTF from non-dealers. Also, I can carry any weapon that I own or borrow openly and most any handgun that I own or borrow concealed (Unless I add to my qual I can only carry up to and including .45 so the .50 DE is out).

Only a few locales have to deal with the type of "liberalism" with which you are saddled.

Freedom, it is a wonderful thing.
