We had a good morning. If we had a any marksanship skills, we would have limited out in 90 minutes. The ducks are flying east of Houston and this was a great day.

Strangely, the Woodies were flying all morning while the big birds pretty much disappeared after 7:30AM. Total count was 12.... 7 Gadwall, 4 Wood Ducks and 1 Mallard.

Thanks. The Woodies are beautiful and very difficult to hunt because they are so fast. The normal hunting window for them is about 20 - 30 minutes right at dawn, but we got a real break yesterday. I took the one on top of the stack to get mounted and it is going to look great in my office.

We were happy

We just had to pee really bad. Waders are waterproof from both sides!

We were 60 miles NE of Houston. The Sandhills were passing over by the hundreds this past weekend. My buddy took a Whitetail that weighed in at 192# on the rack. These are some of the largest deer I have ever seen in Texas and rumor has it that you can find a few old boys that will exceed 200#.

The property we hunted was just off the Trinity river, so we have tons of bayous and marshes. It is basically a sanctuary for all species of waterfowl except geese. I look forward to going back down there next season.
