Mags I'm talking about are all 8 round.

Seems that I'm encounter frequent FailToFeed off my 3 ProMags. Also have a Kimber mag and a PowerMag, and don't have the issue with those.

Problem is on stripping a round from unloaded - the slide hangs up and won't strip it. A solid hit on the rear of the slide fixes it.

Tried both FMJ & LSWC (my usual), in 7 or 8, and happens both kinds, in both load quantities.

Is there anything I can do to the ProMags? Bend out the top lips, perhaps?

1. Replace the old recoil spring in the gun with a new 16# Wolff.

2. Run proper lubrication on the slide rails.

3. Polish the feed ramp.

4. If that doesn't fix it?
You could take the springs and followers out of the mags and polish the insides of the feed lips with 600 grit black emery paper.

Since I don't know how many rounds the current spring has been through, I think I'll get a new spring, and, on a few people's advice, junk the ProMags.

Thanks RC.

Junking the ProMags is the best and first idea.

Then fire until a problem occurs. Then maybe replace the recoil spring.
