That's what I saw at Bud's gun shop... full size Witness 10mm for $315, heck if I had that kind of $ burning a hole in my pocket I'd order one right now.

The Witness HUnter

I believe he has the Witness Hunter Model.

Could you field strip it and take some pictures for us (the hunter model)?

I don't know about the model numbers. I would guess 2005 is about right for when they started the large frame thing. How many rounds do the factory mags hold? If it holds 18ish rounds, then it is the large frame.

I have a witness silver team, in .40 with a aimpoint red dot up on top, the silver team has a match barrell, compensated barrell extension, special SA trigger, drilled and tapped from the factory, ready for competion right out of the box, and I use it for a plinker, lots of fun, accurate and very reliable.

I recently posted a range report/review of my new Witness Limited 10mm and Match .38 Super. A bit wordy but sums up my views of both wonderful pistols:

I have owned perhaps two dozen or more Tanfoglios. I need to sit down and count some day. For my money they are excellent values if you stick with the steel guns, and preferably the Elite series of late. Tanfoglio really did nice work on these models, and I feel that they are the pinacle of the design. The Match is perhaps one of the greatest values in a semi-auto handgun to ever hit the market. Both of the ones I have owned would easly group entire magazines into a 1.5" hole at 15m if the shooter does his part. While I prefer the Stock as an all around carry gun, the Match is quite a bit cheaper and thus a better value given it has many of the same features.
