Looking at picking up a new handgun.

The only requirement I have is that I want 9mm and service size.

I went to a local range and tried all of the 9mm rental pistol they had on display. I liked the Glock 19 the best and shot better with that pistol than the others but they are a little too expensive for me now and I can't afford a .22lr conversion on top of the cost of the pistol.

Basically, I found the EAA combo and money is an issue. Is it a good deal? Getting a .22lr training pistol and a 9mm service pistol with the same trigger sounds good and it looks like the gun goes for $400-$450 online. That's much cheaper than buying a 9mm and a .22lr.

Also how is the trigger? I have heard the SA is a bit heavy but smooth. Is the pull/reset very long?

With everything the way it is I am just looking to get the most out of my money...

I've done some looking into the EAA .22s recently and from what I've read they are problematic. The centerfire EAAs are not bad though.

I'm thinking if he doesn't want to spend more then 500 bucks the CZ 75B and kadet kit is going to be way out of price range. I love my 75b but the kadet kits are a lot of money just to be able to shoot .22 last time I checked they were around 300 bucks just for the kadet kit and a new cz 75b runs about 500.

Have you looked at a CZ75 with Kadet Kit?

Yeah thats a bit more than I wanted to spend, at that price I would probably go with a Glock 19 and a AA conversion or a RIA 1911 with a Marvel conversion.

I was looking at a surplus CZ-82 but with 9x18 being nearly the same price as 9mm and not available locally it really did not make sense.

I have a single action Elite Match and it shoots great. I also bought the .22LR conversion kit and it also worked just great. Single action trigger pull is like a hair trigger. Only reason I sold the .22LR conversion kit is my Fiance shoots with me and she wouldn't keep track of her shot count. The kit won't lock the slide back on last fired!

Glock you can also get a .22LR conversion kit for.
