You are going to like this gun, We have one combat displayed at our local store, the build quality, over all fit and finish is better than my CZ 75B, the grip are more firm and comfort. I am going to sell the Glock and get one of these.

I have several of them, in various calibers, and they're good guns. You'll like the trigger and all of mine are very accurate. They also fit the hand almost as good as the XD does, which is saying a lot.

Hope this helps.

Very good guns. In my opinion the Witness has a better fit and finish than the CZ. I've had two and wouldn't hesitate to buy either one.

I agree. I have had a 9mm for several years that I used in USPSA matches for a while. It is on the heavy side but is very accurate and a real sweetheart to shoot.

I have found that mine doesn't like aluminum cased ammo and will lead up fairly rapidly with the lead bullets I have tried. With jacketed bullets and brass or nickel plated cases it is absolutely reliable.

I did have the rear sight (adjustable) come loose once after ~15k rounds. Now I check the set screws once in a while and have had no further problems.

It now has over 40k rounds and is still running strong with basic maintainance and replacing the springs a couple times.

Can't comment too much about the Witness line, except I do know you can buy separate slides/calibers later on instead of having to get a whole new gun. That alone would make it very attractive.

motodeficient A witness can in most all full size frames can change from 9mm to 38super/9/23mm,40s&w.45acp,10mm also a 22 kit all for around 200 each. CZ can't do that ..
jdgray ain't ever 1911 a copy of a colt 1911 , big deal!!
I own a witness match in 40S&W and also have 9mm conversion kit for it and love the pistol.

Yes very true, this clone is an improvement of the CZ, with much better grip, trigger and finish over all for the same price.

Fantastic gun for the money, but...

Depends on if you get good mags or not.

In 9mm or .40 S&W I'd stick with the CZ. But in .45ACP or .38Super or 10mm if you step up to the Witness Elite Match you get a pistol that is very hard to beat, impossible at its price point, ~$500 around here.

The mag issues are because the gun is sized for the longer rounds and the 9mm or .40S&W are short enough to have issues with many of the mags EAA ships out.

One plus of taking a chance on the Witness is you can buy spare upper kits in the other calibers and have a multi-caliber pistol down the road.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned it but one of the best qualities of the CZ/Witness lines is the low felt recoil of the firearm. While the grip is ergonomically designed and generally feels very comfortable in the shooter's hand I think (could be wrong) that the lower felt recoil comes from the design of the slide to frame fit/design.

Comparing it side by side to other handguns the bore axis tends to be lower in the hand. This causes the recoil to be directed back into your hand/arm, rather than have it rotate upwards. I don't know if this was a purposeful design or not but just about everyone I know who has shot the firearm comments on the low felt recoil.

Be aware. Shoot accurately.

Anyone know if they sell this gun at cabelas and if so what they charge for it?
I have seen it in the gun library, but can not remember if they had it in the new section. Funny that buds description says integrated accessory rail, but the pic does not show it, that or I need glasses.

I want one, doesn't matter caliber as long as it is a metal frame instead of plastic.

Only said what I said, because the OP stated he wanted a CZ75. Besides, the only EEA I've seen, had a molded front sight.... No thanks!

I've been very pleased with my Witness Elite Match. It is SA only with a pretty nice trigger. I shoot more accurately with it thanI do my other 9mms. Felt recoil is also the least. Money well spent in my opinion.

wally I always look at the mags like they belonged to most any old 1811. Do a good cleanup ,check the opening with a mic ,load one round in each mag and see how they compair to each other mag and then fully loaded. See if each one cycles slowly by hand and then fully loaded. I do have 8mags for the 2 calibers and never had a problem with any bullet i have tried from 115gr to 147gr. That is almost more than i can say about some old 1911's ,took some extra there. My 9mm is what i shoot the most and feeds perfect for 1500 rounds so far. Don't think many competitive guns do any better than the witness. Some people just don't take the time to look them overwell.
jdgray ,All the longer barrel models have changable front sites ,this year stock on up. Look at wbwanzers picture just bellow your post ,top one atleast is a henning site, maybe, not stock.

My buddy just picked up a Witness 45, looks and feels like a quality gun, just would rather it have a removeable frt sight. Good to know some models do:)
