I've shot over 25,000 rounds this year and plan to continue this comming year. I am looking for a real good set of head sets for ear protection. There is a lot of head sets out there to choose from and am looking for advice. Ear saving not price is the determing factor. Thanks

Do you shoot pistol or long gun mostly?

The standard recommended set of ear muffs for hearing protection are the Howard Leight Impact Sport electronic hearing protectors. Coupled with a pair of properly inserted ear plugs with an NRR of 30 and using flat temple shooting glasses to minimize the gap in the pads you'll get best combination of comfort and protection.

Certainly I hope that you were wearing ear protection for the 25K of rounds you shot this year.

Hearing cannot be regenerated.

The three "P"s of hearing loss are

Painless
Permanent
Preventable

Leight makes some very good stuff.

I suggest earplugs and muffs.

The layered protection is the best, especially since you are planning on popping so many caps.

Agree. Especially when shooting indoors, plugs and muffs. The Howard Leights are inexpensive and work well.
