I was talking to my mother and told her that between paying for my wife's license renewal (acupuncture0, her annual malpractice insurances, property taxes on two pieces of property, my car (had to replace my Buick because the trans is going out), and and such that I had to put my Concealed Carry permit on hold, as well as maybe not get my new S&W paid for in time to take advantage of the rebate. She handed five hundred dollars and said "Happy Birthday." I reminded her that my birthday isn't until December and she replied, "I'm 91, if I make it to your birthday you can take me to dinner, if I don't at least you got your present."
The woman is a saint, and I intend to put the five hundred bucks back into her savings account while she isn't looking over the next couple of months. Honestly I wasn't looking for a gift or a loan, she asked how things were going and I told her: she is my mom after all, and we are very close.
So I paid off my Smith, and sent my CC paperwork in. Unfortunately the state is swamped with permit requests in this election year and I hear that it might take as long as ninety days to get it back.
