Is it just me or have others noticed how much easier and time consumed in cleaning is so much less in the Remington New Army 58 design? Thru the summer I bought a 5 1\2 inch ROA in blue to go along with my 58s and three Colt designs. Even the ROA with all of Bill Rugers advancements still for me does not beat the Remington for ease of cleaning. In particular I am talking about the removal of the trigger plate which is attached with only one screw. Along with the grips held in position by only another screw it just leaves the whole frame more open after these are opened up. Flushing with hot soapy water followed by a hair dryer seems to eliminate most if not all of the crud that is in the works. The Ruger has 5 screws and two small springs that need to be lined up even though the grips are held by 1 screw for a total of six. This has probably been brought up before but it just seemed like the right thing to ask on a Friday evening. Thanks for your patience.

Aint that the truth !

Tha tis why all my Colts get the Remington treatment :D
Two piece , one screw grips , Colts for Dummies models .

I'll tell you man. A modern Smith and Wesson is a real pain in the ass. Maybe sitting at a nice table or work bench is alright but hunkered down around a campfire with one can get rough when you take out those small screws to remove the side plate. They're so easy to lose among the dry leaves and all. That's what sent me over from the S&W 29 to the Ruger .44 RedHawk and later the Ruger .41 magnum BlackHawk. Of course later I dropped it all in favor of black powder firearms...Nice looking grips there man....

Thanks man

How's it hangin tonight GOTC ?
I like Blood Wood too , allot . I got one set cut out of blank for that littel short barrelled 61 the other day , gotta find some time to lay the tools to it soon . :D

I too am very hard pressed to ever buy another revolver of any sort other than BP , hooked , lined and sinkered I am . :D

Das Jaeger, sir I am not that old. I'm not 'hanging' as it were. I'm 'pronged' as it is!!!
Hope you're doing well sir. I am fine. Very pleasant and kind of you to ask....
