A riddle wrapped in an enigma:
SEC. 504. BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO AND FIREARMS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE.

The second sentence of section 1111(a)(2) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 531(a)(2)) is amended by striking `Attorney General' the first place it appears and inserting `President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate'.

But what does Title 6 Section 531(a)(2) say? Yes precious, it tells us.

(2) Director
There shall be at the head of the Bureau a Director, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (in this part referred to as the “Director”). The Director shall be appointed by the Attorney General and shall perform such functions as the Attorney General shall direct. The Director shall receive compensation at the rate prescribed by law under section 5314 of title V [1] for positions at level III of the Executive Schedule.

LOL, now he is confirmed by the senate. Too bad the senate is mostly anti-gun, but this should provide all sorts of opportunities for the NRA to embarass them and to dig up dirt on the nominees.

Hm.

One point in favor of the patriot act.

How many points against it?

Don't get me wrong, this will probably make my life much easier in a few years, but now I have to be careful about the wording of the 'roll back the act' I send to my congresscritters.

OT, but I still think that "Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives" is a store that I would like to visit...
