That auction fairly REEKS of a sting operation. Too well done, too slick, and eBay does have rules againsts illegal drugs and other items as well as firearms.

Keep your eye's on it, if it's pulled it is an illegal auction, if it stays, I say it's a sting.

I'm sure it would be time consuming to check and verify every single item that is posted for auction. Although maybe a good program could probably automatically flag suspect items?
On top of the ridiculous amount of fraud that goes on, however, it seems that Ebay is actually a monster that is teetering on the verge of being out of control
Oh, and I've spotted auctions for guns before. Emailed one guy and suggested he pull it, got a fairly nasty response that basically said he doesn't care and has sold guns before that ebay never even noticed him selling them.

I reported a guy for selling a complete receiver and they allowed the auction to go forward until completion.

I tried to sell a couple of older satellite access cards that were legal mind you and they pulled my auctions twice. Meanwhile, there are several others with the exact same type of card for sale up there.

I reported it to Ebay (FWIW), they'll probably do nothing. I also reported it to the Vancouver BC Police, mentioning that even if selling the seeds isn't illegal, that big 'ol bush they're on probably is. That's about all any of us can do, and hope it will be acted on.

If people can circumvent the silly rules that surround these things then MORE POWER TO THEM. Now if someone had an auction that resulted in someone getting hurt (human organs???) then MAYBE i would say something. I don't consider this stuff to be my buisiness though. But, it is interesting to see what Ebay catches and what they dont.

Call me what you will for informing ebay about a receiver be sold, but it is this kind of dealing that give the anti's their ammunition about rogue firearm dealings. This is about more than just dropping a dime on someone for petty jealousy. I can see the headlines now, "Ebay allows guns to be sold to anyone without a license."

Those of you who have disapproved with my actions don't realize this, then there is no explaining it to you, you'll never get it.
