Mabye I have been in the dark for a while... but I canned my Ebay account years ago after somebody jacked my paypal account and funneled near a thousand dollars out of it.... and Ebay stuck out their open hand and asked for $85 dollars for a listing of a motorcycle that did not sell... all during the time I heard that they were no longer letting users list gun or gun related items. It made me so mad that I actually called them after a extensive search for a telephone number. I got sombody on the line and then shotly canceled my account. Just a few minutes ago I Googled "1911 rosewood grips" and the first ten were Ebay links.... ***? I said.. Well dont know when it happened but they are now selling gun items again..??? any reason why the change of heart?

they only stopped carrying anything that could possibly be considered part of a gun. so no magazines, firing pins, barrels, slides etc. stocks, grips, leather, sights, etc apparently are not part of a gun according to ebay. you can get some smoking hot deals on a nice pair of 1911 grips if you look. try searching "1911 burl" and see what comes up.

There policy hasn't changed the sellers are just getting away with it for the time being. Look up gun parts not accessories.

It barrels, firing pins & clips etc. and about anything else the eBay police report that they think it should be illicit to sell that gets you kicked off. I tired of fooling with fools and closed my account there also.

Nothing has changed for the better.

Still selling grips & such, but no magazines, barrels, or other parts.

I canceled my account when the new policy went in and told them why.
Got a computer generated email thanking me!

No parts allowed that are incorporated in allowing the bullet to fire or the gun to cycle. Accessories, stocks, and gidget gadgets are allowed.

They have a list of prohibited words, too -- try putting "M4" in a product listing, even when it is entirely relevant and appropriate.

The people that work for eBay have no idea what allows a gun to fire or a gun to cycle. If someone reports an item they will cancel the listing and spam your email with about 10 emails that you are in danger of having your account terminated. Some items fall through the cracks and some sellers put items on there with a Buy it Now so the cracks are easier to find ..................

I was bidding on a set of magazine clamps (for doubling up mags side by side) a few months ago, which I totally found by accident on eBay. I had the winning bid for two days and about 6 hours before the auction was ending, ebay canceled the auction for terms violation buy the seller.

Let me just add, that I have been an ebay user since the very early days. I've bought and sold many items over the years. I now however think they are the biggest rip off going with their new policies for receiving payment when you are a seller. They now essentially are double and triple dipping on the fees. They charge you for listing, then they charge you a percentage of the final value of your item, but the straw that broke the camels back in my opinion is that they now FORCE you to only accept paypal, or bidpay (they no longer allow you to accept checks or money orders).. Both of THESE services charge you ANOTHER fee which ebay of course get a cut of also. So by the time you're done selling something, you're hit 3 times by the B#$%RDS. :fire::cuss: EBAY IS A RIP OFF FOR SELLERS !!

UPDATE - I just searched ebay again for "Double Magazine Clamp" and their all over the place... I can't figure it out.. Ebay sucks (most of the time)

I just found something listed on ebay by M1SURPLUS.COM and went directly to M1's website to order it instead of through ebay. I'd rather give my pennies to the supplier rather than ebay for thier fees.

I miss the complete Glock and Beretta 92 upper for less than 150.

People will still try to sell anything on there. Even drugs.

You are also not allowed to use images of real guns in you ad.

E-bay blows!. They charge the sellers to put up the add, takes a percentage of the sale, makes you use " paypal only" as form of payment (and charge you 3% for that service). Paypal, a company which they own btw. They get you coming and going. Avoid them if possible.:fire:

You are incorrect in assuming that no one in the Ebay Trust and Safety/prohibited items department knows anything about guns. I worked as a temp in the T&S department for a while, next to the PI guys. Some of them are serious gun nuts. I have several friends who USED to work for Ebay who have quit for other reasons, but their gun policies contributed to their decisions.

Prohibited Items is a lousy team to work for. You respond to complaints all day from customers and police things like child porn and adult items listed in the open channels. You don't want to volunteer to look at child porn all day. All of the areas in T&S have to decide how actively to respond to banned content, and whether to remove listings automatically or send them over for human review. I guess right now they are less concerned with gun parts than they are with.....other prohibited items.

No, Ebay and Paypal are still very much anti-gun.

I use Ebay to sell a lot of other stuff that's not gun related. Whether you agree with their policies or not it is still a great resource to get rid of stuff you don't need and make some quick cash.
