I recently got a S&W Shield but needed a covert magazine holder. My solution a simple inexpensive leatherman type holder from Walmart for $3. It holds a 7 round mag perfectly & securely with a snap on top. Any other slick cover mag holders?

OK, searched and searched through WM and net and OT. Item as a single piece is a no go. Did you buy on of their multi-tools and toss the tool? If not how about a item/part number please.

Back when I carried a 1911, I took a used Buck 110 folding knife sheath and carried my spare magazine in it. Living here in KY, no one ever noticed because most every guy had and still has one on their belt around here.

I found an old cell phone case made of black nylon type material with velcro closure that holds two of the Shield extended mags perfectly.

You can buy them straight from Leatherman. I bought a couple different ones for my Charge Ti, and have used the extras as mag holders for my PT145 mags.

Or you can buy the Ozark Trail multi-tool at walmart for $3.87, toss the tool in your glovebox or junk drawer, and use the case.

Yup. I got one of those, too, for 1911 mags. I have a Leatherman MOLLE sheath on my vest, it'll hold mags for either of my 45's.

Yep I bought the Ozark Trail multi tool & just used the sheath. Oh yeah I should mention it only works with the 7 round magazines for 9 mm. I haven't tested it with another caliber shield.

Local WM has finally got some of these in, but are now $4. Posted at the gun register. Holds the seven round mag well, the eight round mag will not fit. The 'tool' that comes with it is pretty weak but has a bunch of pull-out toys on it.
