Anyone want to venture a guess as to how much the gov't has spent on these operations? I'm willing to bet more than the couple owed in back taxes. This is totally stupid. I mean they just owe money, nothing to shoot anyone over.
 
Amazing how much effort they put into this instead of pursuing drugs, illegals, or gangs committing violence. The truth is there is no law on the books requiring payment of federal income tax on wages and if that got out to the masses it would cause chaos so they have to crush these "separatists".

The founding fathers never intended for there to be any tax on income. The federal government was supposed to support itself through tariffs on imports. Business interests would help regulate the spending power of the government by fight unreasonable tariffs. It is amazing how we've come to accept what was pitched as a "temporary war-time expediency" as a permanent part of our daily lives.

Um, read this part of Chapter 1 of US Code, Title 26 lately?

Personally, I think income taxes need to be abolished, but claiming there is "no law on the books" for them is pretty ridiculous seeing as there most obviously is.
 
Warbow, I'm keeping an open mind on the income tax issue. But the section you linked is only defining how much tax is imposed on "taxable income". First, you have to determine if you even have taxable income.

to an earlier clarity that even most math-challenged Americans will understand
quite easily:

Using the CPI calculator from the Federal Reserve:

You would only pay a 1% federal tax on an income OVER $62273.

Would this free anyone up to buy some more guns and ammo? Yes? OK,
