Hello all. It's been awhile since I've posted but I have a unique question running around in my head (which is never good). I've recently treated all of my pistols with Eezox because of its long term rust protection capabilities but I don't feel as confident in its lubrication ability. I took a cue from many others and applied tetra grease to the rails and a thin layer on the outside of the barrel and locking lug. I decided to buy some tw25b for no other reason than I felt like it. I cleaned off the tetra from all of my other pistols and applied tw25b and didn't notice much of a difference when racking the slide, which I expected. I actually think the slides racked a little smoother with Tetra but that's a whole other conversation. Finally, my question: I read that tw25b works by penetrating the metal, filling in micro-grooves in the metal thereby providing an even surface to lubricate. Since I've already treated my pistols with eezox, which also penetrates the metal surface and provides an invisible dry film of protectant and lubricant would this effect tw25b's ability to lubricate at all. I doubt it would but the one I have learned since really getting into shooting is that I don't know half of what I think do. I started my Christmas vacation tonight and obviously have nothing better to think about so thank you for pondering my question.

Does Eezox prevent the TW25b from being 100% effective. I really don't know. I use Eezox and or Militec-1 as the dry lube of choice. I also use TW25b as a wet lube on the rails, but do so mainly because of my psychological "need" to see some slippery stuff on my guns. In reality, the dry lube, (if used properly), will be sufficient on it's own.

As I understand it, Eezox is a surface coating, slightly different from Militec and TW25b which claim the "bonding" to the metal. I believe I read that the main ingredient in Eezox is paraffin, versus Teflon, or a Teflon like product for the others.

I'm a long time user of TW-25B and I don't use it over other lubes, etc. It's too expensive to waste, although I doubt if any harm would come from it.

I don't use Eezox because of the fumes.

P.S. - A solution of hydrogen chloride in water is called hydrochloric acid.
