I waited and waited, and EFK Firedragon finally started making their XD 9MM Conversion barrels for the Sub Compact guns. 
I just had to have one, so I ordered the barrel, a 10 shot 9MM mag, and a Pierce grip extension for the mag. The fit and finish is very nice. It fit my XD SC just a little bit tighter than the standard factory .40 Mag while still slipping right in place. No complaints there.
I took it out today and shot some assorted bullet styles (115 FMJ, 124 TrFP, JHP) all mixed up together in the same mags.
I used my .40 mag first. (Mixed bullet styles) I shot 3 mag fulls (30 Rds) with 3 failures. Two failures to feed and one to eject. A 90% success rate with the wrong mag and mixed bullet styles. Not to bad.
Next I used the 9MM mag. I again used mixed bullet styles together in the same mag and shot 4 mags worth of reloads. 100% feed fire and ejection rate. They also were shooting to point of aim a 7 yards. I was not trying to be precise, but all the rounds were falling in a 5" circle at 7 yards, with the center of the rounds being just about dead on. Very nice. I'll have to try it with glasses so I can see the sights and give it a test for accuracy. I suspect it will do fine. I have one of their barrels in my L/W Commander and it shoots real well.
