EGW Officers ACP full guide rod kit

EGW now has a full length guide rod kit for the officers ACP. I picked one up to see how it would work out.

The kit has a Clark reverse plug, a full length guide rod, and a flat spring. It is a fully-completely drop in kit. The kit fit very well in my Colt 1991A1 compact (same size as the officers acp). Haven't shot it yet but it seems to be a big improvement over the standard plug and spring set up. Check it out at egw-guns.com. I have been waiting to find something like this for a long time.

I modified a Clark plug to work with the EGW FLGR and an ISMI spring about 18 months ago and have been running it ever since in my OACP. It has functioned flawlessly during that time. Nice to see that EGW is offering it as a kit

That's cool. Did you come up with the idea for the small hole drilled in the full length rod that you use a small pin in for install and/or disassembly?

I'm pretty happy with the outcome of the kit. If you had a part to play in it thanks a lot!

Shoot, I don't know if my setup had anything to do with EGW's new kit .
At the time, I didn't want to modify the slide on my OACP, so I ordered the plug from Clark. Later on, I wanted to use the ISMI flat wire spring, but thought it would be best to use it with a FLGR. EGW had a rod that they offered with their reverse plug and the ISMI spring, so I decided to use it and drill the Clark plug to accept it. BTW - the guide rod came with the take down hole already drilled in it The folks at Clark, ISMI and EGW (I also use EGW's barrel bushing) are good to go in my book.
