I have a simple inquiry; I want to improve the felt recoil on my Para 14. It has a tiny nub of a guide rod and a factory spring. Its not so much that the recoil is bad, but that the recoil isn't "smooth" like my other 1911. I assume any old 1911 full length guide rod will be an improvement over the factory set up? I was hoping a full length would get rid of the bit of clickitty-clak I feel after the shot? Its just not very smooth, even compared to my low budget Charles Daly 1911. Para's can use standard 1911 guide rods, right? And what kind of Wolf spring is the standard for a nice light recoil?

I've had both and didn't notice any difference in recoil between my stock stainless P14-45 with the standard guide and my P14-45 Limited with full length guide rod. Both were smooth.

I wonder if the clickety-clack you're feeling is the result of loose fit or something... but it certainly wouldn't hurt to try a FLGR.
