Mods- if in wrong spot feel free to move-

HAs anyone ever bought anything from El Paso Saddlery? I ordered a holster about a month ago and have heard nothing- called and left messages no response. Card was charged so they took my money- Just trying to determine if a month is a long time to wait for a holster. I got the 1890 Original holster for my wifes little ruger single six- they seem like a stand up operation but unsure if this wait period is normal....Thanks

Yes, I have bought from them more then once.

No, a month isn't too long.
Every holster is hand made to highest quality, and they are always backed up on orders.
It may take a 2-3 months to get your order sometimes.

But I can guarantee the wait will be worth it!

BTW: They ain't the best on communicating as most of them only speak Spanish I think.

The wait has probably increased from 2 to 3 months. I used to buy from them but now I can buy their stuff right off the shelf at a local gunshop.

Unless they've gone hi-volume with associated investment in capital equipment to automate much of the manufacturing process - well - you can hire all the people you want but making a holster by hand will still take hours each instead of minutes each.

And I would bet that their hi-volume retail customers will take priority over their mail order customers who've been trained to wait months without complaint.

Wow- I was afraid of that- I guess you have to wait for the nice stuff. I feel better now, still itching to get that holster (i swear it's for the wife's gun - who BTW could care less what kind of holster she has).

I will post a pic when I finally get it.

Thanks

I've had a Holster and belt on order since Feb. 11th , going on 8 5day work weeks tommorow, the printable receipt says time to manufactuer and ship is about 6 weeks, but the web site states 6-8 weeks. I have a feeling the product will be worth the wait!

Saxon,

Now THATS a BBQ rig for sure !

One month is not excessive - in fact it is shorter than usual - in the custom holster business, due to its nature, which rcmodel described. Milt Sparks, for example, typically takes around five months. I would still like it better if EPS followed Sparks' or UBG's business model and were up front about the wait time and did not charge your card until the order was completed and ready to ship, or when the order comes up in their queue, respectively.

As others have said you won't be disappointed.

I've got a couple of their holsters and they're topnotch.

This is a good thread for me to see. I've been thinking about ordering a Tom Threepersons from them for my 64 - I don't mind waiting but it's easier if you expect the wait upfront :)

I've bought a number of holsters and belts from them. It's been a few years since my last order, but I seem to recall it taking about 2 months. Since Milt Sparks is more than 6 months now, and Del Fatti AFAIK is still filling orders from over two years ago and isn't accepting new orders, a few months isn't bad.

In any case, El Paso Saddlery's quality is first rate.

Good news update- EPS called me yesterday and told me my holster shipped last Thursday. I should be getting it today or tomorrow. I will post up a pic when I get it.
