Elizabeth Edwards

Edwards, a liberal elitist, who would've thought ?

As Master Blaster said, he made his fortune off of others' misfortunes. (As a greedy trial lawyer.)

I sometimes carry a gun when confronting someone trespassing on my property.

If I happen to be hunting at the time someone trespasses, I'm not going to put it down to confront them.

If I see someone hunting on my property when I'm not hunting, I will still take a gun with me.

Just because the guy carried a gun, on his own property, does not make him a kook, contrary to what the liberal Eloi think.

This is not about him carrying a gun. Its about his property spoiling their "view".
They are the same kind of people who would move in next to a pig farm and b!tch about the smell.

It's great that this kind of story gets reported. She would do more to help he husband's campaign by keeping her mouth shut and gathering the valuable sympathy. Teresa Heinz did a lot to hurt her husband's campaign last time around. I just as glad that some lessons are not learned.

HB, I hope she opens her mouth at every turn!

if only we could get Bill Clinton to have another affair and Barack Obama's wife to do something stupid we'd be G2G.

Monty Johnson brought out a gun while chasing workers investigating a right of way near his property

I don't mind a guy carrying a gun while investigating trespassers. But I see the phrasing of "chasing" and it does bring back memories (Abbeville, SC, Bixby). I still have no love for the Breck Girl or his usage of his family to boost his popularity. And the way she phrased it as a "Rabid, Rabid Republican" shows what this article is really about.

Should disaster befall our country and Edwards become President, I trust the new 'First Lady' would insist that the Secret Service get rid of their nasty guns.

Considering her health situation, she has a lot more to be worried about than a gun totin' conservative neighbor.

Two America's

Yes John, there are two America's, just like in all your campaign speeches.

The one you and your wife live in, and then the rest of the great unwashed masses that you drive by in motorcades with armed security to keep them at bay.

I guess in the "new" Democrat party it's fine now to judge someone without ever actually trying to meet them, based on rumor and hearsay.

Be sure and instill those great Amercian values in your offspring too Mr. and Mrs. Edwards.

I wrote on his feedback site that based on his wife's views of their neighbor I would not meet her social standards well enough to be an Edwards supporter, but if his neighbor ever runs for President I will gladly vote for the fellow.

:D

John

It's rubes like this that give the rest of us bad name. Obviously this maroon has no concept of the appropriate (and legal) use of deadly force. Look for him to be locked up and lose his firearms and the sooner the better IMO.
Yeah, because no one would ever arm themselves when checking out trespassers on their property...

I carry a sidearm all the time on my own property.

Wow, what a bunch of ego-centric-elites. As a politician, you should be trying to get yourself out there, meeting everyone you can ..... not isolating yourself from "rabid rabid republicans". Politicians who try to "unite" always do better.

I can't fault the Edward's. If there was a neighbor like Monty living near me I would not want to associate with him. The guy is obviously one brick short of a load. Maybe he is completely harmless, but all it would take is one moment where he losses it and hurts someone.
How can you dismiss this guy as an idiot based on one sentence of one article where the reporter probably didn't even bother to research anything. Everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt.

If he had held them at gun point or threatened them, he would probably have been arrested and charged. The article doesn't say that so all I can assume is that he just had the gun with him when confronting the trespassers. Why do you dismiss him as a crazy neighbor based on that?

Why does she fear her neighbor?

Is it because he's a gun owner, a Republican, or both??

I submit it's both.
Republicans usually stand against the type of hard left socialism she supports.

Republicans, especially gun owning members of the party, also know what the Second Amendment really means. It's not all about duck hunting or self defense, it stands as the method of removing (preventing) the sort of tyranny, Edwards and his wife represents. I'm convinced the hard left knows this and fears it, justifiably so!! The hard left lives by the late Chairman Mao's words, wherein he said "Political power comes from the barrel of a gun and that gun must never be allowed to fall from the grasp of the Communist (Democratic) Party".

In this sense, methinks her fears are justified!!

The edwards family LIKE the "TWO AMERICAS"

classic liberalism....so much for helping thy neighbor.....they love the social class system....what shallow hollow people.

so much for bringing people together:barf:

The answer to Mrs. Edwards' problem is right there in the article:

"Johnson said he has put his property on the market..."

just BUY the measly 42 acres!

I say we start a THR collection, see if we can't get enough money together to buy the property and turn it into THR North East. Rifle range, bring your class III's, Live bands and BBQ's. Good place to hold an Appleseed shoot too

Hmmm, Let Me Think... . . .

She lives on more than a hundred wooded acres in a $5M home of 28,000 sq. ft., and she's looking out through the woods at a 42 acre tract that is "countrified". Doesn't make sense. She should be in the street looking back at that "beautiful" house of hers and not the neighbors!

Someone needs to buy the 42 acres and put up a 56,000 square foot house, fix up the "yard" to resemble the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and deride her for her shabby acreage and cheap little house.

What a diva!

As for her fear of Monty Johnson, it's most likely unfounded. If she had half a brain - and knew how to use it - she'd be grateful to have a vigilant and armed neighbor. Normal people do appreciate such neighbors. There is always that one time when you desperately wish you or someone else had a gun within screaming range...

If you want security, buy a gun. If you want longevity, learn how to use it. If you want freedom, carry it. There is nothing worth more than freedom you win for yourself. There is nothing more valuable to that end than the tools of the right that make it possible. B.E.Wood

Indoor basketball court... indoor handball court... indoor pool.

The Edwards family clearly does not want to deal with anyone but peers and servants - and Mr. Johnson is not either. His presence must be a tremendous irritant to Mr. and Mrs. Edwards. Nevertheless, they are too cheap to just buy his property to get rid of him.

Maybe we should start a drive to collect money to donate to help Mr Johnson pay his taxes, so he won't be tempted to sell out.

I would make the drive down from Virginia at least once a month to shoot :D

No matter the cost :neener:
