I have heard on several posts and from several other people about having and emergency bag/fanny pack to grab in case of an emergency at home, whether an HD emergency or a fire, etc.
Some things I have read about/heard of:
-spare car and house keys on a keyring attached to a glow stick so that emergency responders can find your keys if you need to throw them out a window
-handgun/ammo
-knife
-pepper spray/mace
-cell phone
Just curious about what you guys have/suggest having in one.

Do a search. It's been covered here many, many times. And they often so go south and get closed.

However, I'll tell you what's in mine:

Duncan Yo-Yo
kazoo
pocket knife
a Twinkie
2x beef jerky
first aid kit
emergency blanket
finger paint
construction paper
run-proof scissors
pirate outfit
deck of playing cars

:)

I'm gonna go out on a limb here but I'm guessing Matt has childeren. I don't have a real grab bag but I do take a back pack with me everywhere I go. I keep my S&W snubbie in there with two speed strips of ammo, a flashlight with spare batteries, a leatherman, a small first-aid kit, two bottles of water and a bag of cashews.

I sometimes change the snubbie out for my model 28 or a compact 1911 but 90% of the time it's just the snubbie. Maybe a jacket and a change of socks from time to time, but that's about it. I allways keep a handier knife, my cell phone and a can of Copenhagen on me so they don't need to go it the pack.

Matt, is that water based finger paint? I am afraid that an oil based product will cause troubles with my water purification setup. also, why only one twinke? They come in pack's of two, and if you cannot find any squirell brains for tanning hides I am pretty sure that "cream filling" is made of the same stuff.

I also like to keep a white flag, incase I run out of ammo or I realize that it is an attack of the Amazon Women.
