Hey I'm trying to find a telescopic stock that won't wiggle. I'm thinking about a Vltor Emod or a Magpul UBR. What do you guys think? I'll be mostly shooting targets prone with a bipod and scope if that makes a difference. I can't really try out these stocks to see what will or will not be loose.

What do you guys think?

You shooting style matters, if you're a nose to the charging handle shooter then you need something with a constant cheek weld like the UBR or the earlier M93b.

m93b seemed a BIT sturdier than the UBR to me (I have 1 of the former and 2 of the latter) but only a bit, and both are better than any other collapsible stock i've used.

if you're mostly shooting prone with a bipod and scope, consider the magpul PRS instead of the UBR.

The Magpul CTR stocks are rock solid. May want to consider this as an option as well.

I have a CTR, I wouldn't call it rock solid ... it's only a bit more solid than a standard collapsing stock, at least mine is. I have a SOPMOD stock too, that one I'd call rock solid, as is the M93b. Haven't used an UBR though so can't comment.

This is an interesting point. I have one on my AR thats got just the smallest amount of play, I wouldn't have even noticed it had I not handled a few others. But of those others, once you lock the stock into place, it's got ZERO movement and I was pulling and pushing pretty hard.

my CTRs (i think i have 3 of them) are all rock solid. perhaps you have a commercial ctr on a milspec tube or something? or maybe you have the MOE version which doesn't have the lock?

My CTR is the one on a Sig Commando ... it's not loose by any means, just not M93b or SOPMOD solid. But then again it's much cheaper, and I'd say it's 'solid-ness' is pretty compariable to Vltor stuff like the Emod.

As far as solidness goes my friend has a milspec CTR and his is pretty dang solid when locked down, i have a commercial CTR and it's got a little wobble that's pretty annoying even when locked.

Ordered a milspec Emod/buffer tube (will hopefully show up tomorrow) and am hoping this will fix my problems

I know someone with 2 MOEs and a CTR, the CTR locks solid, but he doesnt like dealing with the friction lock, so never locks it tight anymore. The CTR locks up as tight as a solid stock, no movement. But without the friction lock has a bit more movement than either of his MOE stocks.
The quality and materials magpul uses is second to none, and prices are far better than the competition.
