Today at the range I had another shooter shoot my Springfield 40 and he was able to confirm that it shoots to the left and it is not me. I have a UNI 2001 universal sight adjustment tool that I tried to use to drift the rear sight to the right. However, the sight is on so tight it will not bulge. Does anyone have any ideas how I might correct this problem?

just to make sure--you took out the rear site retaining pin, right?

my EMP40 rear site needed adjustment as well.

i couldn't tap it over, and my local smith wasn't able to move it with the sight tool far enough to correct the aim for fear of snapping the sight in half. SA musta used hydraulic presses to put them in. lol

i ended up sending it in for something else anyway, so i told them to site it in while there.

call SA cust serv, they'll put you on hold and call one of their smith's.

the rear sight is tight, and may have red loctite on the dovetail.

the springfield rear dovetail is slightly smaller than the sight to where the sight dovetail is filed to get it to fit. in the pic below you can see residue from loctite on the EMP sight on the left. you can also see where teh sight is filed to fit. the sight on the right is from my TRP. my friends Champion was the same as well.
