I am looking for a small carry gun of high quality. I like both the Kimbers and the EMP's. Although the EMP dosen't come in 45, I guess I could live with a 40. Any thoughts either way on this? I would like to stay under 25 ozs,of course I could get a 26 0r 27 GLock, but time for the 1911 platform.I must have night sites, and at least 8 rounds minimum

I have an EMP in 9MM, and a Kimber CDP Ultra in .45. Both are great guns. Pick your poison.

I have both a Kimber Crimson Pro Carry II and a Kimber Ultra II. They are both great carry gun. Great accuracy, flawless performance, beautiful trigger. Love the way the Crimson Tracer grips work. Kimber is a quality product.

i'd go with the EMP. i've had the short barreled .45 ACP pistols and just got tired of the feeding issues inherent in the shorter barrel/slide of the .45 sized guns.

by sizing the EMP to 9mm cartridge length, Springfield Armory addressed the timing issues ofthe shorter slide on the longer action. here's a review i did a little while back:

the .40 EMP is a bit heavier, but it is easier to do work on the frame and refinish afterwards

thanks, looks like I still have some thinking to do. How did the 40 shoot if anyone has one and dosen't mind telling a little bit about it?
